He's up to four goals, 14 helpers, nine power-play points, 90 shots on net, 22 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through 25 appearances while seeing big minutes in a top-four role.... See Less Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Opens scoring in win Skjei scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Kings.
Skjei scored the opening goal 4:02 into the game. The tally snapped a 10-game point drought for the defenseman, who slumped for much of November after starting the year well. The 28-year-old isn't known to be consistent on offense, and it's no surprise he's struggled a bit as he regresses from a 39-point campaign last year. Skjei is at three goals, five assists, 53 shots on net, 29 hits, 19 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating through 25 contests this season.... See Less Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Puts away goal Saturday Svechnikov scored a goal on two shots and added three hits in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Kings.
Monitor this situation very closely.... See Less Hurricanes' Antti Raanta: Pulled on leaky effort Raanta was pulled after two periods in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Blues. He allowed three goals on 15 shots. Two were on the power play, but even then, Raanta looked leaky when he was in the blue paint -- a couple of those goals were questionable at best. Still Rod Brind'Amour is known to ride his goalies, so there's always a risk Raanta could be nicked up.

Kochetkov and the Hurricanes gave the Kings nothing through two periods. The hosts battled back a bit in the third, but never enough to endanger Carolina's lead. Kochetkov has now won his last three outings, and he's up to 5-1-3 with a 2. 919 save percentage in nine appearances overall. The 23-year-old has alternated starts with Antti Raanta lately, but Kochetkov has largely had the better performances and could command more time if he stays hot. The Hurricanes' road trip continues Tuesday in Anaheim.... See Less Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen: Good to go Teravainen (upper body) will play in Saturday's game versus the Kings, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Teravainen is set to play on the second line alongside Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Andrei Svechnikov.

Noesen got some run in the top six when Teuvo Teravainen (upper body) was out, Teravainen's absence ended Saturday, and Noesen was back in a fourth-line role at even strength. He still picked up his fourth point in the last five games, and his role on the top power-play unit means his offense is unlikely to totally disappear at any point. Noesen has three goals, eight helpers, seven power-play points, 48 shots on net, 13 PIM and 26 hits in 24 contests this season....
He did appear to be slow to get up on a couple plays in the second period, so we'll watch this carefully. Frederick Andersen is already out with a lower-body injury and while he's been great so far, Pyotr Kochetkov has just nine career NHL starts. During that span, Fast saw an increased role to make up for the absence of Teuvo Teravainen (upper body), who returned versus the Kings.
Martinook has been solid in a middle-six role so far, logging seven goals, six assists, 52 shots on net, 34 hits, 18 PIM and a plus-7 rating through 25 outings. He hasn't reached the 20-point mark since 2018-19, but he's well on his way there this year and could even put up a career year if he stays healthy.... See Less Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Contributes power-play helper Noesen logged a power-play assist and two PIM in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Kings.
See Less Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Chips in with helper Jarvis recorded an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Kings. Jarvis has quietly put together a five-game point streak (two goals, three assists). Playing in a top-line role alongside Sebastian Aho has its perks, and it's working out for Jarvis right now. The 20-year-old winger is up to five goals, seven helpers, 51 shots on net, 29 hits and a plus-6 rating in 25 contests overall. That level of production has been a slight drop from his 40-point effort in 68 games last year, but he's still doing enough to help in deeper fantasy formats.... See Less Hurricanes' Brent Burns: Sets up pair of goals Burns registered two assists, two hits and two blocked shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Kings. Burns has posted multiple points in each of the last two games after doing so just twice over the first six weeks of the season.

The Kings have been boom-or-bust on offense lately, but Kochetkov's been solid for much of the year, so he should remain a solid fantasy option.... See Less Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen: Taken off injured reserve list Dec 2, 2022 Teravainen (upper body) was removed from the injured reserve list Friday, per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site. Teravainen's availability for Saturday's game against Los Angeles still hasn't been determined, but the Hurricanes' decision to activate him strongly suggests that his return is imminent.

See Less Hurricanes' Jordan Martinook: Notches helper in Saturday's win Martinook produced an assist in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Kings. The 28-year-old forward hasn't played since Nov. 10 because of the injury. He has no goals and seven assists in 14 games this season.... See Less Hurricanes' Pyotr Kochetkov: Appearance in relief nets win Kochetkov stopped 10 of 11 shots in relief after he came into Thursday's 6-4 win over the Blues. He earned the win. Kochetkov has been outplaying Antti Raanta lately, as the latter had allowed three goals on 15 shots Thursday before getting pulled to start the third. We don't know if the Canes are going to ride the hot hand, which is certainly Kochetkov, during Frederik Andersen's injury absence (lower body), or if pushing the rookie becomes a necessity should Raanta be hurting, which may be possible given his slow reactions to plays, especially in the second frame.
